World Languages and Cultures Day 2023

This year's WLD was sponsored by the School of Languages and Linguistics and the College of Liberal Arts. 1,000 area high school students and their language teachers attended the event. Please see the WLD Webpage for more information.

Breezeway Blast

CoLA welcomed new and returning students to the Fall 2023 semester. Activities included an ice cream truck, inflatables, and a raffle for SIU items. It was HOT, but everyone had a great time.

LLC Paint Party with Salukis

CoLA hosted a paint party with the opportunity to take photos with two Salukis (August 18th, 2023). The event was for students living in the Living Learning Community in Schneider Hall.

HONORS DAY 2023

SIU Honors Day took place on Saturday, April 1st. Students across CoLA were recognized for achieving Academic Honors, High Honors, and receiving scholarships and awards within their Majors. Congratulations to all recipients!

 

WAR IN UKRAINE ONE YEAR IN: SURPRISES, CHALLENGES, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Professors Bloom and and Shulman (School of Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology), along with moderator John Shaw (Paul Simon Public Policy Institute), discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine after one year and what might happen in the future. See the recording below.

SMOOCHES FOR POOCHES VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY

CoLA hosted Smooches for Pooches! Students were able to meet Piggie Smalls and interact with service dogs in training.
