Our faculty share a common interest in language and culture but teach and do research across a wide range of areas, including literature, lingusitics, philosophy, film, and history.
We include award-winning teachers, as Pam Walker, winner of the campus wide NTT teaching award, and Carola Daffner, winner of the CoLA teaching award.
Our faculty are active scholars. In just the last few years faculty have published books on Japanese linguistics (Alan Kim), the poetry of Delmira Agustini (Alejandro Caceres), and orality in postcolonial Africa (Moustapha Fall).
