Eugene F. Timpe Award for FLIT Internships

The Timpe Award provides Foreign Language and International Trade majors with an additional source of financial assistance during their required internship. Dr. Eugene F. Timpe founded the FLIT program in 1986. The Eugene F. Timpe Award was created in his honor and it is awarded every year to assist students with internship expenses.

Up to $1000.00 will be awarded to provide financial assistance for an internship abroad to undergraduate student(s) majoring/specializing in the Foreign Language and International Trade (FLIT) Program.

Requirements:

  • Recipient(s) must be a FLIT major with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • Recipient(s) must be currently serving or planning to serve the FL 495 internship in the calendar year of the award.
  • It is important that the recipient(s) be active members of the FLIT club. Active participation includes fundraising activities as well as volunteering in University/community sponsored events with the club. To apply students should submit a list of FLIT Club activities in which the student has participated, an itemized report of forecasted expenses, and a description of the planned internship which includes the proposed beginning and end dates (Internship Sponsor Verification form suffices).
