Undecided Majors

Choosing a Major
Each College has Undecided majors, and students can be accepted into other Colleges at SIU as an Undecided major. For example, if a student knows that they want to major in something within the College of Health and Human Sciences, then they could apply as Undecided within the College of Health and Human Sciences. If a student is deciding between majors within multiple Colleges, then they could be Undecided in one of those Colleges, or within CoLA. Please talk to your Admissions Coordinator if you are unsure how you should apply.
Students with a high school GPA between 2.5 and 2.75 are more likely to be admitted to Undecided within CoLA than other Colleges. For many students in this category, they can often move into a major of their choice once they reach a 2.0 GPA at SIU.
These links provide additional information about majors at SIU. All students must choose a major once they reach 30 credits hours. If a student has reached 30 credit hours and cannot decide on a major, or cannot get into a program of their choice at that time, they may be placed in the University Studies major.
Career Development
