New Study Abroad Program in Spain!

Earn up to 12 credit hours that can be applied to the Spanish major or minor or to the FLIT or International Studies degree -  in one summer -  and while living in Spain! For one student's report on how the program went last summer, click here.

Students have the option of doing 4 weeks and receiving 6 credits, or 8 weeks and receiving 12 credits. A SIU Spanish faculty member will accompany the students to Alcalá de Henares and teach one of the courses the first four weeks. Students who choose to stay an additional 4 weeks, take two additional courses entirely with Instituto Franklin/Universidad de Alcalá professors.

For more information go to:

Internships through the University of Alcalá.

In conjunction with the Univeristy of Alcalá, we can place students in internships in Spain.

To register you can go to: or simply go to the SIU Study Abroad Programs web site and use program search, To apply, just click Apply Now on the program web brochure.

The most important thing to keep in mind right now is that you need to have a valid passport by the time you apply in March. If you plan to go on the program and you do not have a passport, or your passport is expired, you need to take care of that now! We recommend that you renew your passport over winter break.
