Research and Creative Interests:

History of bridal fashion, Draping, Millinery


Caitlin has worked throughout the Midwest as a costume designer and technician. Recent design credits include Yerma, Twelfth Night and Ghosts (Illinois State University), The Book of Liz and The Wake (Chemically Imbalanced Comedy) Shade of Heart and Birds of Kudzu (Illinois State Dance Theatre) and as an assistant costume designer at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Her technical work been seen at American Players Theatre, Mcleod Summer Playhouse, Illinois State University Theatre, and the Michigan Shakespeare Festival. Prior to coming to Carbondale she taught costume design and costume history at Illinois Central College. Caitlin is a member of USITT and has a great interest in the history of bridal fashions. She has studied haute couture draping and millinery at the Paris American Academy and English theatre history in London. Caitlin holds an M.F.A. in costume design from Illinois State University and a B.S. in Theatre and Apparel Merchandising and Design from Central Michigan University.

From 1987-1989 She attended Southern Illinois University with a Major in Music Education and Performance (Piano), with a Minor in Voice.
