Welcome to the political science graduate program! The department offers three degree programs.
The Political Science Ph.D. program is a unique educational experience that gives our students focused training in a way that cuts across traditional subfields to give students a broad understanding of political science. Students take coursework in three concentrations: Comparative Politics / International Relations, Political Communication, and Judicial Decision-Making. We offer four-year assistantships, with additional university fellowships available. Applicants may apply directly to the doctoral program without an M.A. degree.
The Masters in Public Administration program trains both students starting their public service careers and professionals seeking to advance their careers. Both the student body and the faculty reflect the diversity of the region. The program offers broad training in public administration with a focus on public management. Students may choose to specialize in aviation management.
The Political Science Masters program provides advanced study in political science. Students in the M.A. program typically finish in three to four semesters. Students completing the program are prepared for further study in a doctoral program or to begin a research career.
