Dr. John Sides discusses the last presidential election

Dr. John Sides recently visited campus for a lecture titled "Donald Trump: How Did He Win and What Does It Mean?" in an event presented by the Morton-Kenney Public Affairs Lecture Series, and co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute. The event was held at The SIU Student Center on Wednesday, April 12. Both the video as well as the transcripts (PDF) are available below:

John Sides is the co-author of a forthcoming book about the 2016 presidential election; a book about the 2012 election, “The Gamble”; a textbook on campaigns; and scholarly articles on campaign strategy and its effects, attitudes toward immigration, and other topics.

He helped found, and contributes to, “The Monkey Cage,” a political science blog. He has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, the New York Daily News, Salon, Boston Review and Bloomberg View.
