Philosophy at SIU offers a major and a minor in philosophy, as well as a pre-law specialization in philosophy. The program is a pluralistic one with undergraduate courses in a variety of traditions, such as analytic philosophy, phenomenology, American philosophy, Asian philosophy and feminism. The faculty has various specializations: the history of philosophy, logic, ethics, metaphysics, political and legal philosophy, the philosophy of science, philosophy of technology, and philosophy of religion. The Undergraduate program is chartered by the national honor society in philosophy, Phi Sigma Tau.
