2023 BUDGET COMMITTEE
Charge: The committee on budget shall advise the dean in:
- determining all fiscal priorities with respect to continuing and projected programs
- securing adequate consideration of the various fiscal needs of the areas within the college in relation to the total college allocations
- securing adequate consideration of the fiscal needs of the college in relation to the total university budget
- all such fiscal considerations being evaluated on the basis of area differences, disciplinary needs, and academic quality

COLLEGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC)
Charge: The College Advisory Committee provides more communication and transparency to faculty, staff, and students and meets 2-3 times a semester. Specifically, the CAC advises the Dean in these ways:
- advises on current policies and procedures and, if necessary, recommends changes and/or new policies and procedures
- monitor and facilitate communication between the Dean and all constituencies in the college
- assists the Dean in recommending, measuring, and/or implementing strategic planning goals for the college
- recommends updates to the CoLA Board of Visitors on news relevant to them

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (FDC)
Charge: The committee on faculty development focuses on faculty excellence and success in both the tenure track and non-tenure track lines in the college. Specifically, the PDC advises the Dean in these areas:
- review the current state of faculty development and recommend changes as needed
- help faculty achieve excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement through input from faculty as well as national best-practices
- reviews awards & incentive programs
- assist in onboarding and facilitating a healthy set of mentoring programs for faculty
- assist faculty in applying for, receiving, and/or managing external grants
- recommend and/or initiate new programs and resources for faculty generally, but specifically with regard to inclusive excellence.

RETENTION COMMITTEE (RC)
Charge: The goal of the committee on retention is to track, assess, and recommend methods and best practices to meet the retention goals for CoLA. 3 year term, meeting 2-3 times a semester. Specifically, the RC advises the Dean in these areas
- help create, monitor, assess, and improve the first-year seminar for new CoLA students
- review current retention and graduation rates, drilling down to each program
- recommend best practices for improving student retention
- engage and interact with student RSOs relevant to the college
- recommend new programming or events that will help retain students
- coordinate and facilitate any community engagement to help with retention
