The SIU Student Garden, LOGIC (the Local Gardening Initiative of Carbondale), is offering a tour of its grounds from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15th, at the Center for Sustainable Farming at 3373 W. Pleasant Hill Rd in Carbondale.

Come out to see what this student-led, volunteer initiative has wrought! The RSO will showcase its raised beds, hoop house, and Permaculture site. The Center also features the College of Agriculture’s vermiculture composting facility and a Field to Fork program that grows food for University dining halls.

Students play a vital role in these sustainability initiatives. Join them as they discuss their successes and challenges, and afterward lead you to one of Carbondale’s two Farmer’s Markets.

(If you visit Faner courtyard, the container gardens also contain herbs—dill, lemon balm, and basil—grown from seed by student gardeners from LOGIC . )
