BM: Vocal Performance
Deanna is a current member of the SIU Concert Choir and in the studio of Dr. David Dillard.
Her dream is to perform in operas and with symphonies while also being a music therapist.
“The music department at SIU has always been very supportive of me as I have navigated the difficulties of college the last four years. The [School of Music] program and faculty have helped me grow exponentially as a musician and as a person.”
“I chose SIU originally because they offered me scholarships to assist me financially and because they are located in a much warmer climate than Michigan where I am from. And now one of my favorite aspects of SIU is the beautiful campus, particularly the fountains placed around campus.”
This coming May, Deanna will be graduating with a bachelors in Vocal Performance with a minor in business and administration. After SIU, Deanna plans on going on to [graduate school to] be a music therapist and performing whenever able.
