The High School Winds and Percussion Festival (formerly Heartland Honor Bands and Choir Festival) is a unique concert band and chamber music festival for high school students.

Students work with Dr. Christopher Morehouse, SIU Director of Bands, and SIU School of Music applied faculty and participate in:

  • Honor Wind Symphony, large ensemble consisting of festival participants and members of the SIU Wind Ensemble
  • Chamber Music
  • Masterclass

The festival culminates in an evening concert featuring the Honor Wind Symphony and SIU Wind Ensemble.
