American Song Festival

The School of Music at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is proud to announce the 2018 American Song Festival held November 7-10, 2018 on the SIU campus. We will celebrate the creative genius and dynamic repertoires of American song composers with events including master classes and a recital presented by Emily Fons and performances by SIU faculty and students.

Emily FonsOur featured performer and master clinician, Emily Fons, is a Grammy Award-nominated American mezzo soprano. Since graduating from SIU Carbondale with her Master’s degree in 2008, Emily has gone on to perform at many of the world's most prestigious music venues including Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic.
