Webb Exbhibit on Baseball
History graduate student Jamie Webb has an exhibit in Morris Library (near the entrance): MLB Players from Illinois. The exhibit showcases the significant number of baseball greats originating in Illinois, along with images of their birth certificates from the Illinois Regional Archives Depository office (IRAD) at SIU. IRAD houses documents from the lower 22 counties of Illinois, ranging from the late 1700s to the mid-1900s, serving as a source for paper documents no longer held at county courthouses.
Featuring a history of baseball in our region along with images and signatures of famous players like Hank Bauer and WWII veteran Dave Garcia, the exhibit is on view until August 26.
