The SIU Writing Center
Writing Center: The Writing Center provides free tutoring services to undergraduate and graduate SIU Carbondale students who are interested in improving their writing. The Writing Center assists students at all levels of their writing from drafting their first English 101 essay, to final revisions of Doctoral Dissertations. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend tutoring sessions as well.
The Writing Center is located in Trueblood Dining Hall as well as second floor of the Morris Library. Students may attend regular-weekly sessions, or make single-visit appointments at either of the locations. OWL: An additional aspect of the Writing Center is a free Online Writing Lab (OWL) that enables students to participate an interactive tutoring session with a tutor.
Non-Native Speaker Assistance: The Writing Center offers free writing tutoring to all non-native speakers. In addition, the Writing Center’s website offers a number of helpful tools and resources.
