Renee Stites-Kruep’s current research interests include English teacher preparation, the teacher career cycle, and using the Youth Lens Critique with young adult literature. She is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the NCTE, presenting at the conferences almost annually. Stites-Kruep earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, Master of Arts in English, and Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Truman State University.
She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Saint Louis University. Stites-Kruep has taught middle and high school English in public school for nearly ten years, and at Southern Illinois University she teaches English methods courses.
