Athos Bouyoukas currently lives in Doha, Qatar and recently accepted the position of Vice-President of Al Mal Bank, a newly formed Islamic investment banking company. Athos writes:

"In my role, I am responsible for creating a back and middle office, complete with trade settlement and exception processing procedures, as well as producing the daily profit/loss and risk calculation for the entire bank. In a more front office capacity, I am also responsible for the development of alpha-generation models and developing use of algorithms in executing trades on an electric platform."

Athos received his Bachelor's degree from SIU Carbondale in Economics, minoring in Political Science, in May 1992. He went on to receive an M.S. in Financial Markets and Trading at the Stuart School of Business — Illinois Institute of Technology, in 1997. He writes that in this time, he has worked in financial markets ranging from the Chicago Board Options Exchange to Northern Trust, Bank of America, UBS, and ABN AMRO.
