Coady to represent SIU in Atlanta

coady-vertical.jpgSavannah Coady, a Communication Studies senior, has been selected to represent SIU at the National Millennial and Gen Z Community event in Atlanta. This event offers a series of business and professional meetings and think tank conversations.

The National Millennial and Gen Z Community seeks to effectively change the conversations employers and others are having about these generations. The organization seeks to raise the standard of generational thought and engagement while challenging misconceptions created by the generational gap.

The National Millennial Community was founded in 2015 by Bill Imada, Chairman and Chief Connectivity Officer of IW Group, Inc.

This opportunity was made possible by the collaboration between Communication Studies Professor Dr. Nilanjana Bardhan, who serves on the board of directors for the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations which works frequently with Mr. Imada, and the generosity of Mr. Imada, who is financially sponsoring Savannah Coady.

While in Atlanta, Savannah will be representing SIU by joining a group of at least seventeen other students and young professionals meeting with representatives from companies such as Coca-Cola, Cookerly, Cox Enterprises, Home Depot, and Porter Novelli. For a few days this fall, Savannah will be at the forefront of business and professional conversations concerning issues faced by her generation.
