Satoshi Toyosaki is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He received his B.A. in Speech Communication from Eastern Illinois University (1998) his M.A. from Central Missouri State University in Communication (2000) and his Ph.D. in Speech Communication from Southern Illinois University (2005). His interests include critical intercultural/international communication, critical selfhood postmodern theory and praxis, intercultural communication pedagogy, Japanese Pop Culture and humanistic research methodologies.
Dr. Toyosaki was awarded the excellence in Graduate Student Research/Creative Activity Award in 2005. He has presented at several conferences including the National Communication Association and the Central States Communication Association Conferences. He also has several articles published in professional journals including The International and Intercultural Communication Annual, Cultural Studies - Critical Methodologies.
