Graduate Certificate Requirements
18 hours of coursework and independent study are required for the Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies. The first required nine hours of coursework will include a range of courses designed to broaden the knowledge and experiences of students concerning women's issues and the study of gender and sexuality. The second nine hours of coursework will be electives, including three hours of independent readings designed to fill in any gaps of interest where a course does not currently exist to meet that need.
The student must currently be enrolled in a Graduate Degree Program at SIU, or have a Bachelor's degree and admitted as an Unclassified Graduate. The student MUST complete the required worksheet and confer with the Women Gender and Sexuality Studies Director to register for the Certificate Program.
The Graduate Certificate Worksheet provides the information on required courses and electives.
