Higher Education opportunities for Paralegal Graduates
Because paralegals often go on to become lawyers, our program offers a pre-law specialization. In addition to a variety of other wonderful law schools across the country, many of our paralegal students are accepted to the SIU School of Law. Angie Scott, a 1997 graduate of the SIU Carbondale Paralegal Studies program, was ranked the #2 graduate of the 2000 SIU Law School class. In her words, “The experience that I received in dissecting and briefing cases put me well ahead of the other incoming law students. Also, my legal research and writing classes helped in getting my submitted articles published by the SIU School of Law Journal. The skills gained from my paralegal background have helped me succeed and flourish in law school.”
Paralegal Studies graduates may also wish to take advantage of SIU Carbondale’s numerous graduate programs.
