Criminology and Criminal Justice Minor
A minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice is a useful secondary specialization for students in many majors who may be interested in working in policy, management/administration, or investigation and compliance. If there’s a federal, state, county, or municipal government agency with oversight, there’s a position with responsibility for compliance and oversight! A minor in Criminology & Criminal Justice also is a popular secondary specialization for students majoring in other social sciences, both in terms of expanding expertise in theory and research skills and/or policy and administrative problem-solving.
A minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice consists of 18 hours of CCJ courses, which must include 201 and 290. At least 12 of the 18 hours must consist of CCJ courses taken at SIU.
