Dr. Nowacki joined the SIU faculty after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 2014. His research interests focus broadly on social responses to crime. More specifically, his interests focus on Federal sentencing outcomes, policing, and gender disparity in crime and justice. He is currently working on projects that examine the effect of the United States v. Booker decision on sentencing outcomes at both the individual and aggregate levels.
